Forever GI Bill - Harry W. Colmery Veterans Educational Assistance Act

the , also known as the “forever gi bill,” will bring significant changes to veterans education benefits over the coming years. most changes enhance or expand education benefits for veterans, servicemembers, families, and survivors. .

Assembly Bill 13 signed by Governor Brown on September 27, 2014

cabrillo college's amended policy for non-resident tuition for veterans will go into effect july 1, 2015. a student of the california community colleges or the california state university who was a member of the armed forces of the united states stationed in this state on active duty for more than one year immediately prior to being discharged shall be exempt from paying nonresident tuition for the length of time he or she lives in this state after being discharged up to the minimum time necessary to become a resident.

New State Regulations: Veterans – Priority Registration

澳门申博网站the board of governors of the california community colleges revisions to title 5 regulations: enrollment priorities  

Registration priority, in the order of priority listed below, shall be provided to students:

  • 澳门申博网站who have completed orientation, assessment and developed student education plans and are eligible as a member of the armed forces or a veteran;

  • who have completed orientation, assessment and developed student education plans and are eligible and receiving services through disabled student programs and services or extended opportunity programs and services

  • 澳门申博网站who are continuing students and not on academic or progress probation for two consecutive terms as defined in section 55031 and first time students who have completed orientation, assessment and developed student education plans
